V. Fire and Explosion Information
Sodium Carbonate is a NON - FLAMMABLE chemical product.
It is not susceptible to producing flames or explosions.

VI. Reactivity Data
* Stability: In normal conditions the products is stable.
* Incompatibility: It reacts with Calcium Hydroxide forming "Caustic Soda".
* It can violently react if combined with strong acids, releases Carbon Bioxide (CO2) and heat.

VII. Cautions
* Sodium Carbonate is an alkaline product, severe eye irritator and moderatemucous membrane and skin irritator
* In case of contact with the eyes: Wash immediately with running water, for at least fifteen minutes. Call a doctor or take patient to the nearest medical institution.
* In case of contact with the skin: Wash with water until it is clean.
* Clothes&# 58; Wash before using again. In case of severe contamination, remove clothes and take a shower or bath for at least fifteen minutes.
* The handling and use of this product, should be made by trained personnel observing the indicated cautions.

VIII. Personal Safety Equipment
During the ha ndling and use of sodium Carbonate it is convenient to protect:

a) The respiratory system, by using a breathing mask with dust filter.
b) The eyes, using safety glasses or goggles.
c) The skin, using gloves, apron and shoes made of synthetic material (which does not permit alkaline solutions to pass through).

IX. Spills and Wastes
* If Sodium Carbonate is spilled, it should be picked up with a shovel, filling a receptacle properly labeled and closed for later disposal.
* Sodium Carbonate waste should be handled according to the actual State and/or Federal regulations.

X. Additional Precautions
* Store product in a dry place, avoiding humidity and exposure to intense heat.
* Use with adequate ventilation.
* Keep the recipient closed when not in use.
